Document Description
During the summer of 2000, the existing EMWD water supply was marginally sufficient to meet customer demand. EMWD has proposed the construction of a new water treatment facility. Without the Proposed Project, the EMWD has estimated that sufficient supplies would not be available by 2002, due to anticipated demand from existing and approved development in the EMWD service area. The Proposed Project involves the construction and operation of a water treatment plant (WTP) that would provide approximately 10 million gallons per day (mgd) of potable water supply. The project includes pump station, power station, water filtration screens, transformer, standby generator, electrical building, control building, chemical area, salt storage, hypochlorite tanks, membrane tanks, and chlorine contact tanks.
