Miner's Hardware Creek Bank CUP 29-99/CDP 61-99R

The project applicant proposes to provide creek stabilization on the west side of Morro Creek as it passes by the adjacent Miner's Hardware Store property. This slope stabilization will be limited to a 150-foot by 50-foot area (7,500 square feet) on a 15-foot bank with additional staging area required for construction equipment. Slope production will be accomplished through the placement of quarter-ton class rock over geotextile fabric with a finished slope of 1.5 (horizontal) to 1.0 (vertical). The lower portions of the rock rip-rap will be placed in a manner to create openings in order to provide fish habitat. Approximately 680 cubic yards of cut and fill is estimated to be required with earthwork expected to balance on-site. Existing willow trees and other streambed vegitation is expected to be removed as a result of these creek stabilization activities. Revegitation of the area will occur through the placement of willow cuttings through the geotextile fabric with daylight exposure. Access to the site will occur through the Miner's hardware property. An excavator will be stationed at the top of the creek bank for excavation and rock placement activities. Construction equipment shall operate outside the creek boundaries. A silt fence will be erected at the base of the slope to protect the creek bed area. Any excess soil will be distributed outside the floodplain area.
