Document Description
CDFG is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 (SAA#1600-2003-5219-R5) of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Viewpoint School. The applicant proposes to alter the streambed to modernize an existing school. New development would occur primarily in developed areas. A buried section of Dry Canyon Creek daylights into a degraded but soft-bottomed drainage for about 330 feet folowed by a series of open and closed boxed culverts for an additional 885 feet. The creek is contained within a natural setting of riparian willow woodland on the eastern portion of the campus for an additonal 1,459 feet. Direct impacts include the installation of 5 culverts outfalls. All stormwater would be treated either by fossil filter or additional pretreatement in grassy swales. Permanent impacts from the new outfalls would total 0.001 acres of unvegetated concrete and soft bottomed drainage. Temporary impacts would result from trenching through nonnative and unvegetated areas to reach culvert outlets and will be approximately 0.002 acres. An additional 1,450 linear feet (0.13 acres) of soft bottomed creek will be enhanced as a mitigation measure by the removal concrete debris form the creek bed.
