Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class1&2 Sec.15301(b)&15302(c)
Reasons for Exemption
The project involves the removal and replacement of an exisiting 9,900 sq. ft. sump sewage pump station with an approximate 16,120 sq. ft. sump station of the same purpose and capacity. Tree protection measures will be followed. Noises and odors from the expanded facility will be negligible and will not have direct impacts on nearby residences (noises and odors will be similar to what currently exists). Noise emitted from the emergency generator would be reduced by enclosure of the emergency generator in a building and by operation of the generator only during occasional power outages. The expanded facility will be designed to be compatible with the park. Landscaping will be used to screen the facility. This project consistent with the 2000 Master Plan for Park Facilities and Recreation Services, Phase 1. The project is also requried to comply with the Uniform Building Code and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) requirements, relating to hazardous materials. Therefore, impacts to workers for contact with hazardous materials are less than significant."
