The City of Lawndale is updating its Housing Element for the 2000-2005 period pursuant to the update cycle for jurisdictions within the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) region. The Housing Element reflects the unique realities of Lawndale as a highly urbanized community, with limited amount of vacant land for development. The population of Lawndale is approximately 30,000 residents and the housing stock is comprised of approximately 10,000 units.
