Document Description
The project is the development of 30-classroom elementary school with the capacity to serve 600 students ranging from day care and kindergarten through sixth grade. Classrooms will be in two-story modular buildings with a minimum classroom size of 960 square feet. The school will include a 3,340 square foot administration building, a 7,780 square foot multipurpose building that serves as a cafeteria and auditorium, a 2,420 square foot library, soccer fields, and basketball courts. The total area of the project site is 5.75 acres. The building heights will have a maximum height of 30 feet. West of the soccer fields is an area of approximately one-acre that has been designated as a future planning area with no planned uses at this time. The total building space will be approximately 48,480 square feet of building space. The school will be supported by 38 full time staff. Access to the school will be from "K" street. Access onto the site will be through a parking lot with approximately 72 parking spaces plus three handicap-parking spaces. A fire service only lane will be constructed off of Broadway into the school site. The project includes a landscaping plan that includes trees along the south and east boundaries, trees in the central courtyard, and turf on the playing fields.
