Document Description
The City of Port Hueneme is updating its Housing Element for the 2000-2005 period pursuant to the update cycle for jurisdictions within the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) region. The Housing Element sets forth the City's strategy to maintain and preserve existing housing, expand housing opportunities for all economic sectors, and provide guidance and direction for local government decision making in all matters related to housing. The Housing Element reflects the unique realities of Port Huemene as a coastal community, with limited vacant land remaining for development, the population of Port Huememe is approximately 23,400 residents and the housing stock is comprised of approximately 8,000 units.
