Document Description
(a) A change in zone classification from A (Exclusive Agriculture) to NR (5) (Natural Resource-5 acres) or a more restrictive district; (b) Exclusion of approximately 60 acres from the boundaries of an Agricultrual Preserve; and (c) Tentative Parcel Map No. 10721. The project site consists of three 20 acre parcels, one of which is proposed for subdivision into four, 5-acre parcels. The property is located within the boundaries of the Rio Bravo Oilfield and development on the parcels is limited to three oil wells that are currently idle. No specific development proposals were submitted with the current request, however, the Natural Resource District is primarily intended to accommodate a limited range of resource exploration, production, and transportation operations related to the production of petroleum or mineral resources. The zoning district will also accommodate development of limited agriculture related activities. Access to the propoed parcels is from Shafter Avenue. Sewage disposal and potable water will be provided by individual septic tank and private well, respectively.
