Document Description
The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks proposes to develop a 14.5-acre sports field complex on the final soil cover of the former Gaffey Street Landfill in San Pedro. The complex will include a turfed area to accommodate up to 6 regulation soccer fields (340 yards long by 200 yards wide) and 3 smaller fields for soccer practice. An irrigation system and subdrain system will be installed for the fields, and landscaping will be provided along the eastern perimeter of the site. As additional funding becomes available, it is anticipated that future site improvements will include a permanent restroom facility, a concession building, bleachers, and a recreation office.
