Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to change the existing electrical automatic irrigation control systems to remote Irrigation Control Systems (RICS) and update several existing RICS systems at various locations. The RICS upgrade will conserve water, increase motorist and maintenance safety and improve maintenance efficiency. The project will allow the highway landscape on the proposed routes to be monitored from the Caltrans Maintenance yard for water line or sprinkler breaks and for remote adjustments of seasonal water needs.
