Document Description
The San Gabriel Basin provides drinking water for over a million residents. Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) contamination was discovered in several areas during the late 1970s. In 1984, the San Gabriel Valley was placed on the U.S. Environmental Agency's (EPA's) National Priorities List (Superfund). The South El Monte Operable Unit is one of the areas requiring cleanup under the Superfund laws.
