Document Description
Construct a series of drainage improvements to substantially reduce recurrences of local flooding. The project would include improved runoff collection and conveyance facilities in local roadways, a new approximately five-acre detention basin and berm between the existing Monterey Street residences and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, and improvements to outfall facilities between the detention basin and the Bay. All facilities would be designed to handle runoff from a design storm having a 10% chance of occuring in any given year (the ten year flood). This is the City's recommended design criteria for secondary drainage systems serving basins of less than one square mile (per City of Richmond Municipal Code Section 15.08.570 Design Standards- Storm Drains).
