Document Description
The redevelopment plan area includes the Port of Stockton, along with other industrial land uses, many of which are port-related. There are three scattered residential units within the study area, but no residential areas included. The redevelopment plan for the Port area is being proposed for a couple of reasons. It is a cohesive area of similiar land uses, which enjoy similiar blighting characteristics. This area is in need of infrastructure improvements including, but not limited to storm drainage, roadway reconstruction and widening for industrial traffic, and antiquated fire, drinking water and sewer infrastructure. These infrastructure improvements are vital to the economic revitilization of the Port and surrounding industrial land uses. Although no specific projects are included within the framework of this initial redevelopment plan, it is anticipated that amendments to this plan will be made once specific projects are prioritized and can be financed. The Port of Stockton is currently in the process of preparing a long range strategic plan that may further clarify and prioritize these infrastructure improvements.
