Document Description
The Stanley Quantitative Biosciences and Bioengineering Building ("Stanley QB3 Building") project would construct a facility of approximately 155,000 assignable square feet (asf) and 285,000 gross square feet (gsf) on the Berkeley campus at the present site of the 47-year old, seismically unsafe, and programmatically deficient Stanley Hall, a 42,518-asf building that would be demolished. The new and larger building would provide replacement space for current occupants of Stanley Hall, would house the California Institute for Bioengineering, Biotechnology, and Quantitative Biomedical Research ("QB3") at Berkeley, and would house a special laboratory for a second institute, the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society ("CITRIS").
