The test borings will be drilled on each side of the centerline of the creek, as allowed by the flow channel. Test borings will be drilled on the dry terrace of the creek with a minute-man drill rig. The drilling equipment will be hand carried into the channel bottom by two drillers and a field engineer. The test bores will be 3 inches in diameter and be drilled to a maximum depth of 20 feet. Upon completion, the test borings will be back filled with soil cuttings generated by the drilling. A test pit will be excavated along the proposed pipeline. The test pit will be located on the dry terrace out of the creek flow. The test pit will be approximately 18 inches wide by 10 feet long by a maximum of 14 feet deep. The test pit will be backfilled with the excavated cuttings and tamped with the backhoe.
