Document Description
As a result of the Base Relignment and Closure Act of 1995 (BRAC), Lassen County is being offered 4,388 acres of land that are currently a portion of the Sierra Army Depot in the Herlong area of California. The area to be excessed by SIAD includes a potable water distribution system and a sewer collection and treatment system that serves the Depot and adjacent community areas. To continue serving existing users and to provide sufficient capacity for anticipated growth in the Herlong area, the Lassen County Local Reuse Authority (LCLRA) is proposing to accept the water and sewer system to be excessed, develop new potable supply sources, construct new water transmission and distribution facilities, rehabilitate SIAD systems as needed, and construct a sewage lift station, trunk and collection sewers, and new treatment facility.
