Document Description
Remove accumulated sediments from and regrade the Grand Canal. New Loffel Block embankments like those in the Venice Canals will be installed. Non-native and invasive vegetation will be removed; natural wetland species (saltgrass and pickleweed, etc.) will be planted on all embankments. A decomposed granite walkway and a one-meter split-rail fence will be installed at the top or on the banks. Side opening storm drain catch basins with Ultra Urban filters will be installed where streets currently drain untreated into the canal.
