Document Description
Global Photon Systems Incorporated is constructing a fiber optic cable network that is proposed to link major cities along the California coast between San Francisco and San Diego. This system is comprised of a high capacity (24 fiber) optical cable that would be buried off-shore (3 to 12 miles of the California coastline) and brought inland at seven landing locations in a "festoon" arrangement. Within this system, individual off-shore cable segments are terminated at various beach landings to connect into terrestrial cables which are routed to major cities near these landing points (San Francisco, San Jose, Monterey County, San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Diego). Prior to project construction, the Global Photon fiber optic cable network will have a certified Final Environmental Impact Report (Lead Agency: State Lands Commission), a state Coastal Commission Permit and any required permits from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, etc.
