Document Description
University channel / Massachusetts Avenue and Boulevard Drive - A proposed restoration of an eroded earthen drainage channel. Portions of the northerly and southerly banks of the existing channel have eroded, creating a hazard for the abutting commercial building at 7167 University Avenue. The work consists of restoring eroded banks using approximately 1,480 square feet of riprap on both sides of the channel (0.034 acre of bank area to be repaired). Since the northern bank has more erosion and will be built-up with riprap, the southern bank will be cut to maintain the existing width of the streambed. Topsoil will be added over the riprap and sprayed with a hydroseed mix of native plants to stabilize the repaired banks. The earthen channel, commonly referred to as University Channel, is a tributary to Chollas Creek and is part of the Chollas Creek hydrological area.
