Document Description
The project will construct a sand dam diversion across Deer Creek. A bulldozer will push sand from the streambed to create the dam. Additional sand from the streambed will be used to reinforce the north bank of Deer Creek to protect adjacent property from flooding. A spillway will be created in the center of the dam. The spillway will be at an elevation of 2 feet lower than the elevation of the reinforced north bank of Deer Creek. Approximately 3,500 cubic yards of material will be skimmed from the stream bottom to create the dam and reinforced bank. Annual maintenance and repair of the sand dam, reinforced northern bank and total project area is expected.
