Document Description
Increase the annual production at an existing winery from crushing 40,000 tons of grapes to 65,000 tons of grapes annually, producing 4.9 million cases of wine with a total of 155 employees, of which 35 would be new employees, with an additional 15 employees during the harvest season. The project includes construction of a 100,000 square foot cellar, expansion of the bottling building from 8,000 square feet to 22,500 square feet, a 7,500 square foot maintenance building, a 20,000 square foot operations building, outside storage of tanks, a finished goods/staging area of 12,000 square feet and a sugar testing platform. The applicant anticipates an average of 100,000 gallons of water to be used during crush operations. The existing wastewater system is adequate, according to the Water Quality Control Board to handle this loading. No new ponds are proposed. Due to the large volume of wells existing on site, no water-related impacts are likely to occur, according to the Project Review Health Specialist. The proposed cellar building will have earth berms on the sides and the project includes a tree screen to prevent adverse visual impacts on Dry Creek Road.
