The proposed project is the construction of a 47,425 gsf facility for the shared use of the UCSD departments of Theater and Dance and the La Jolla Playhouse (a California nonprofit corporation), a nationally prominent independent theater company based on the campus. The center will include a "black cox" or experimental theater, sound studio, three classroom/rehearsal spaces, office and administrative support space, and woekshop and storage space. The theater has space for the flexible arrangement of up to 400 seats.
