Document Description
The proposed project would make improvments to the existing Sutro Library, including re-grading and landscaping perimeter drainage; replacement of non-pressure treated wood; straightening of parapet; re-work storm drainage system; seismic retrofit of suspended ceiling system; replacement of exhaust fans; replacement of smoke detector systems; relocation of existing mechanical equipment. In addition, the project would replace rusted doors and frames, repair equipment drains, reposition rain water leaders; remove and replace exterior metals; secure cabinets, files and shelving; mechanical equipment replacement; electrical main panel testing; Fire Life Safety smoke detector; install exist signage and egress lighting. The existing Sutro Library houses the Sutro collection, and the project is needed to protect building from further deterioration. The project consists of improvements to an existing State facility, with no expansion of current use.
