Document Description
The proposed project entails the construction of a 145,000 gross square foot building to provide modern instruction and research facilities for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The proposed building would be four stories above grade with a basement level, oriented in an "L" shape which will enclose a future landscaped courtyard. The building would include a mixture of office, administrative and research space and instructional laboratories divided between CSE, Warren College Writing Program, and the Warren College Provost. The design, including architectural treatments and styles, consists of an enhanced office building constructed of steel or concrete with stone paneling. A pedestrian walkway would be preserved southeast of the building. The proposed building site is approximately two acres in size, and would be located east of Engineering Building Unit 1 adjacent to Warren Mall on the main campus, University of California, San Diego.
