Document Description
The proposed Aviation Facilities Plan identifies projects to meet the aviation needs at the Santa Barbara Airport through the year 2015 to accommodate additional passengers and aircraft operations. The projects would consist of the following elements:
Airfield Safety Projects: Construction of a full 1,000 foot long by 500 foot wide runway safety area for each end of Runway 7/25 to meet current minimum FAA minimum standards. This project also includes relocation of Tecolotito Creek 2,000 feet to the west to accommodate the runway safety areas. The construction of a new partial parallel Taxiway M, west of runway 15R/33L, to improve operational safety by minimizing runway incursions.
Airline Terminal Expansion: Addition of a net increase of 49,700 square feet to the existing Airline Terminal area, for a total of 95,000 square feet and the widening of Taxiway B adjacent to the terminal. This addition is needed to serve existing and projected demands.
Parking: Added parking for 946 automobiles. This parking is needed to serve a projected demand through 2015, and would include a three story parking structure.
Air Cargo Building, T Hangars and Service Road: Construction of a new 15,000 square foot Air Cargo building; construction of 75 new T-hangars; and construction of a new 1,800 foot long service road.
