Document Description
The proposed K-3 (grades kindergarten to 3rd) school is considered a "necessary small school" by the school district and the State Department of Education. The proposed public school will have an enrollment of about 70 students and will be a standard and will be a standard 9-month school. Students that will attend the school are now bussed to the Point Arena Elementary School, about 15 miles away. A school located at the proposed site will reduce travel time for the students (about one hour each day). Students for this school will come from the Gualala area (within a 5-mile diameter) from the proposed site.
