Document Description
The project proposal is to design and construct an Off Highway Vehicle Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) Training Facility at Modesto Reservoir Regional Park. It will encompass an area of twenty acres on public lands. Eight-to-ten "challenge" courses (i.e. rock hazard, hill climb, stair step, frame twister, sand pit, mud pit, water pit, and gravel pit) will be built. The courses will be designed to test and improve the skills of both novice and occasional Sport Utility Vehicle drivers as well as other 4WD users. The facility will give 4WD owners the opportunity to learn to drive safely in a controlled environment. The facility will be enclosed by a fence line. Amenities will include: a bulletin board for driver information and safety, a portable restroom, sun cabanas.
