Document Description
California Department of Fish and Game is intending to execute a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (SAA#R5-2001-0008) pursuant to Section 1601 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, County of Orange Flood Control District. The applicant proposes three inflatable dams, together with sump boxes (14'x14'x12') within concrete lined stream channels to divert seasonal urban runoff (containing fertilizers, pesticides, waste oils and other chemicals that run into the ocean) into the sanitary sewer system at three different locations. Project components include three floodplain channels and three pump stations. The intent is to reduce contamination of coastal waters. The project is located in the Grenville Banning Channel, Santa Ana River Channel, and Talbert Channel, in Orange County.
