Document Description
The proposed project is the expansion of an existing sand and gravel surface mine and related aggregates processing facility. The project site is 215 acres in size. The existing permit was approved in January 1976, and will expire in 2008. The expansion proposes to add approximately 50 acres to the 121 acres currently approved for excavation, and to extend the life of the mine by 27 years. Additionally, the project proposes to recycle inert construction waste and revise the reclamation plan to incorporate groundwater recharge. The project is proposed to be implemented over approximately 35 years (including the requested 27 year extension), in three phases. A total of 27,600,000 cubic yards of material is proposed to be excavated. The project also proposes a 5,900 square foot metal storage building and a 5,900 square foot metal shop building. A total of 41 parking spaces are proposed.
