Document Description
The proposed project is the Phase IV element of the multi-year renovation of the DMV Headquarters Building East in Sacramento. Project involves renovation of the first floor including hazardous materials abatement; seismic retrofit of the structural system; access compliance improvements; replacement of the fire and life safety systems; energy conservation improvements; providing a new exterior cladding system; relocating the day care and play yard; relocating the cafeteria to the first floor; and upgrading the electrical/mechanical systems. The project also includes other various improvements including conversion of one block of First Avenue to a pedestrian mall; conversion of Burnett Way to a loading dock area; relocating the main traffic entrance to 25th Street; improving circulation in the parking lots; replacing and improving landscaping access to the building; and providing additional security lighting. Project does not involve changes in DMV staffing or programs at this building.
