Document Description
The proposed project at the Wasco State Prison (WSP) would construct a prescreening facility to remove large-sized debris from the wastewater collection system at the WSP Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The prescreening facility would be approximately 1200 square feet in size, with two channels from the ground to the collection system's main line, isolation gates to allow independent channel flow, and automatic bar screens in both channels to carry debris to the top structure. The project is needed because the WSP WWTP has an on-going problem with copious amounts of large-sized debris flushed into the wastewater collection system by inmates. The WSP has to manually remove the debris on a daily basis in order to prevent clogging of the wastewater treatment system. The project would provide an efficient method of debris removal to accommodate the existing prison population.
