Document Description
The proposed project will involve temporary trenching within an alluvial deposit near Hunters Creek in Glenn County. Trenching will be accomplished using a tracked excavator. Trenching will occur in late September during daylight hours only. No occupied dwellings are present within three miles of the trench location. The anticipated trench dimensions are three-foot wide, 10-feet deep, and 50-feet long. Both ends of the trench will be sloped at a 45-degree angle and the trench will be covered with heavy gauge plywood when not in use. The trench will also be fenced to prevent livestock entry into the trench area. The trench will be open for two to three weeks. Upon completion of geologic exploration, the trench will be backfilled, compacted, and restored to current topography. All topsoil will be stockpiled separately and spread over the backfilled trench. Upon project completion all bare soil areas will be seeded with native grassland herbaceous species.
