Document Description
The applicant proposes to alter the stream channel in three locations to repair three portions of the loop road that was washed out during 1995/1996 storms. The road serves as access to residents in the event of fire or other emergency. Area 1 provides access to the water supply wells in the canyon. The plans for restoration of the roads include placement of fill material and provide bank protection for future storms. The project will impact a total of 0.62 acre of stream channel and associated riparian habitat. Native soil would be placed on the gabions and the slopes will be re-vegetated. A total of 0.47 acres of on-site restoration will be completed within the repaired areas. An additional 0.20 acre of streambed restoration will be provided at an offsite location as compensation for the 0.15 acre of impacts not covered under the on-site restoration.
