Revisions of the text of Article 36 of Appendix I of the County Ordinance Code, Section 36-4 relating to Sirface Mining and Land Reclamation, and revisions to the County Surface Mining Standards. The purpose of these revisions is to bring the Santa Clara County regulations governing surface mining and reclamation into conformance with the State mandates for such regulations.

The project is exempt from CEQA because it is a ministerial action required to bring the County ordinance and standards into compliance with the State laws (Public Resources Code 21080(b)(1); Section 15300. 1 of the CEQA Guidelines). There is no possibility that the proposed changes to the ordinance and standards may have a significant environmental impact (Section 15061 (b)(3) of the CEQA Guidelines).
