Document Description
To remove exotic vegetation from the Rose Canyon Creek for the purpose of enhance the Creek for native wildlife and fishes, to provide educational opportunities to view native riparian, fresh water marsh, and salt marsh habitats and associated wildlife. The removal of vegetation will occur by using manual labot, using hand held tools, during the non-breeding season of the State's birds. The Operator is to supervise the removal of vegetation to assure native vegetation is not removed. The Department issuing of an agreement does not approve any other proposed future actions of the Operator adjacent to the Creek.

Reasons for Exemption
This project will only remove non-native trees and scrubs growing in the Rose Canyon Creek during the non-breeding season of native birds. Based on a site inspection by the Department, the amount of non-native vegetation present, the method of removal, the timing of the removal, and other conditions contained in the streambed alteration agreement assure that only minor alteration will occur to the creekbed, and that no significant impacts to wildlife, fishes, or native vegetation.
