Presently, a one-story commercial structure.
Retail/Dining/Entertainment (including hotel).
The proposed project involves the demolition of the existing one-story Water Street III building (located north of the main hotel on Water Street) and the construction of a new five-story building which would provide a 63-room expansion to the existing hotel, and approximately 3,072 square feet of space for meetings and associated pre-function areas, a landscaped courtyard between the existing and new building, and public access improvements. Beneficiaries are those who will be directly or indirectly employed as a result of new project, guests of the hotel, the Port of Oakland and the City of Oakland and its residents, who will receive revenue based on the project, and community members who utilize the public access.
