- Document Description
- This study addresses alternatives and recommends a plan for a comprehensive solution to flood control problems in the Sacramento area, and ecosystem restoration at Folsom Dam and selected sites along the Lower American River. The study is part of the Federally-authorized American River Watershed Investigation. The two types of flood control alternatives are modifying levees to increase American River conveyance capacity through Sacramento, and increasing flood control storage through enlargement of Folsom Dam and Reservoir.
