Document Description
Shamrock Materials, Inc. proposes to mine gravel from the Russian River from approximately the Crocker Road Bridge in Cloverdale for two miles downstream. This is known as the Vimark, et al., Mining Project. The mining standards for the Vimark Project generally conform to those of the Sonoma County Aggregate Resources Management Plan and the Sonoma County Surface Mining Ordinance, but allow more mining on the heads of the gravel bars and allow the removal of riparian vegetation which has become established on some of the bars. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2000-1099 pursuant to section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, David Ripple/Shamrock Materials, Inc.
