Document Description
The project is the abandonment of pipelines in a corridor approximately seven miles long. The corridor starts at the Gaviota State Park and runs west through the Hollister Ranch to Augustin Point. The pipelines run parallel to shore and are approximately one-quarter mile from the shoreline. The pipeline crosses 11 creeks and a number of ravines. There are a total of three pipelines in the corridor, which include one 8 inch, one 6 inch and one 2.5-inch pipeline. The 2.5-inch pipeline runs approximately two miles to a pig receiver at Alegria Creek. The 8 inch and 6 inch pipelines run the entire seven miles. The pipelines are buried greater than three feet in depth along the entire corridor, except for those locations where they are exposed due to erosion or by design (pipelines spanning ravines on pipe supports). The pipelines are buried at various depths below the creek beds. There are a total of 38 locations along the pipeline corridor where work to abandon pipelines would be conducted. A number of different work procedures would be conducted at each site.
