Document Description
The proposed project includes the construction and operation of a second main railroad immediately adjacent to, and west of, the existing single track from approximately La Veta Avenue in the City of Orange south to 17th Street in the City of Santa Ana, a distance of about 1.8 miles. A second railroad bridge would be built over Sanitago Creek, immediately to the west of an existing bridge. The new tracks and bridge would be located within existing railroad right-of-way. Project construction between Fairhaven Avenue and 17th Street would require changes in the layout of Lincoln Avenue. These changes require the acquisition of underlying interests in several slivers of street property (each about 15 feet wide) along Lincoln Avenue and acquisition of a small parcel of private land at the intersection of Santa Clara Avenue and Lincoln Avenue. The proposed project would include limited physical and oeprational improvements to four intersections, as well as all necessary safety improvements.
