Document Description
The Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health, Household Hazardous Waste Program has been awarded a grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board to site, design, and construct a Permanent Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility in South County. The Hoousehold Hazardous Waste Program (HHW) Program collects batteries, oil, oil filters, paint, aerosols, auto fluids, garden chemicals, cleaners, mercury, pool chemicals, and sharps (needles). Improper disposal is not only illegal; it can contaminate our drinking water and endanger refuse wokers. Providing safe and convenient disposal services for hazardous waste will reduce pollutants from rural and urban runoff.
