Document Description
The proposed City Center project is a mixed-use sports/entertainment commercial center with a residential component. The project requires a zone modification to increase the height of the proposed senior housing units, approval of Conditional Use Permits to allow for the multi-use stadium within light manufacturing and commercial center zones, an amendment to the Southeast Bakersfield Redevelopment Plan to allow Redevelopment Agency funding for the stadium. The proposed project includes the development of seven major components: multiplex movie theatre (70,000 square feet), Town Center retail (12,000 square feet), multi purpose stadium (5,000 permanent seats and 3,000 berm seats), sports cafe and video game fun zone (18,000 square feet), community recreational facility (73,000 square feet), five restaurants (27,600 square feet), and senior housing (180 units).
