Document Description
The proposed project will return Angora Creek to a pre-disturbance, naturally functioning condition (i.e., shallower and more sinous) that provides aquatic and riparian habitat. The stream channel will be restored by reconstructing a natural system of riffle/pools and meanders with a raised channel bed. The project will entail constructing up to 2,500 feet of new stream channel. The project will return the historic flood flow function to the meadow, improve water quality by increasing the filtering function of the meadow, utilize improvements that require minimal maintenance, improve the function of riparian habitat by raising the ground water level, increase wetlands, restore the maximum amount of stream zone, improve wildlife and fisheries habitat, and preserve and protect cultural resources.
