The pipeline turnout would divert up to 15 cubic feet per second of water from the existing Santiago Pipeline into Santiago Creek for groundwater recharge. A flap gate would be installed on the outfall structure. The water would run along the Santiago Creek to approximately Tustin Avenue (approximately 2 miles) before all water would have percolated into the ground. The construction area needed for the installation of the rip-rap extends approximately 35-feet north and south of the rip-rap structure and approximately 12-feet west of the centerline of the creek. The project will impact 0.12 acre of stream, woth less than 0.01 acre of riparian species: 0.02 acre of permanent impact to stream and 0.10 acre of temporary impact to stream. Mitigation measures include planting 0.12 acre of mulefat saplings on-site.
