Document Description
The project is either a 678 megawatt (MW) or a 720 MW natural gas-fired, combined cycle power plant. Associated facilities include a new 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission intertie to the existing Victor Substation approximately 7.2 miles away; natural gas fuel supply pipelines and potable and raw water supply facilities. In 2000, Cdfg issued an incidental take permit for the project pursuant to the California Endangered Species Act ("CESA"). At this time, CDFG is making a minor amendment to that permit to allow a non-profit agency to hold the endowment account that will be established to fund long-term management of habitat lands required to mitigate project impacts on desert tortoise and Mohave ground squirrel, two species protected by CESA.
