Document Description
In order to develop information necessary for a major outlay project at Patrick's Point State Park, a slope stability analysis is needed for the Agate Beach and Lookout Rock Campground areas. A licensed geotechnical engineer and a engineering geologist will supervise the work and natural and cultural resource specialists will assist in site selection to minimize the potential for resource conflict. These resource specialist will also monitor all surface disturbing activities. The project will include mapping of soil materials, drainage patterns, trenching cross sections, and drilling. All trenching and soil removal will be done in appropriate lifts with separate stockpiling of organic duff material, topsoil, and parent material, and sample taking for laboratory testing to characterize subsurface conditions, and a numerical analysis of this data. This information will determine the location of stable and potentially unstable areas. All excavated material will be returned to its appropriate profile after the data is collected.
