Document Description
The Department of Boating and Waterways proposes to undertake boating related public safety improvements at Sherman Island. The work involves the installation of a new boat boarding system at the existing Lunker Point Boat Launching Facility and the replacement of the boat boarding float system at the Campground Boat Launching Facility. The existing worn asphalt apron at the Campground facility will also be removed and replaced with concrete.

Class 1(d): Restoration of deteriorated structures to meet current standards of safety; and Class 1(f): Addition of safety or health protection devices for use during construction of or in conjunction with existing structures, facilities, or mechanical equipment, or topographical features including navigational devices; Timing of the work will be between September 1 and December 31 to mitigate impacts concerning the presence of a historical bald eagle nesting territory adjacent to Lunker Point.
