Document Description
This proposed project involves roadway expansion/improvements along a 2.5 mile section of Vanden Road, including an upgrade of the two lane highway to a four lane expressway to accommodate increased north-south traffic throughout the corridor. Full build-out of the roadway will include shoulders; bicycle and pedestrian paths; and landscaped areas. The project will expand the existing right of way to the west to approximately 151 ft. The project will result in impacts to 22.50 acres of California tiger salamander habitat, including long-term temporary impacts to 3.44 acres. The project will permanently remove 19.08 acres of California tiger salamander habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is/are designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of project implementation.
