Document Description
For the past 60 years Connolly-Pacific Co. has supplied most of the rock for landfills, shoreline protection, and jetty work in Long Beach Harbor via barge from Catalina Island quarries. Connolly-Pacific estimates that projects currently underway or planned in the POLB area will require up to 700, 000 tons of aggregate-based construction materials within the next few years. The Pier D site would respond to market demand for competitively priced aggregate construction materials of the quality produced at the Catalina Island quarries and other coastal locations.
