Document Description
Elkhorn Boulevard Pipeline Relocation Project - The project is part of the North Natomas Comprehensive Drainage Plan flood control improvements. Currently 380 acres of farmland, north of Elkhorn Boulevard and 7,000 feet west of the East Drainage Canal drains into the Reclamation District 1000 C-2 drain, which discharges into the East Drainage Canal, south of Del Paso Road. Three alternative drainage methods are proposed to move the discharge location of the agricultural drainage from the C-2 drain and transport the water to the East Drainage Canal. Alternative 1A would intercept drainage from the C-2 drain via an existing channel that would be widened (north of Elkhorn Blvd.), a channel that would be constructed (north of Elkhorn Blvd.), and then through a new pipeline (south of Elkhorn Blvd.) that would transport water to the East Drainage Canal. Alternative 1B would intercept drainage from the C-2 drain and transport water to the East drainage Canal via a channel that would be constructed south of Elkhorn Blvd to a new pipeline. Alternative 2 would intercept drainage water from the C-2 drain and transport it via a new pipeline south of Elkhorn Blvd. to the East Drainage Canal. The City's preferred alternative is Alternative 2.
